Here at Emmaus Rd, we love our city. We believe that the church should be at the forefront of addressing poverty in Guildford and standing beside the most vulnerable in our community.
We aim to see lives transformed by kindness, friendship and hope. All our projects are a response to needs we have seen in Guildford. Thanks to so many passionate volunteers, many have experienced the love of Jesus outside the walls of our church.
Emmaus Rd supports families in our local community who are struggling, before they reach crisis point, in response to a need highlighted by social services. We hope to be a resource to families in Guildford by providing friendship, very practical support and fun activities. We also offer on-going, day to day support throughout the year.
Every week, a group from Emmaus Rd visit Vaughan House – supported accommodation for those who are single and homeless or at risk of homelessness. The team provide support and friendship to those living at Vaughan House through chatting, playing games, Bible studies and having Sunday brunch together once a month.
Emmaus Rd partners with the chaplaincy team at HMP Send, supporting women with emotional and spiritual need throughout the year.
