Senior Pastor / Elder
Pete is one of the founding champions of the 24-7 Prayer movement and leads Emmaus Rd with Sammy. They live in Guildford with their two sons, and their two dogs, Noodle & Crumble. Pete is an ambassador for the NGO Tearfund and served for seven years on the senior leadership team of HTB in London. Pete is a renowned author and his books include Red Moon Rising, God on Mute and Dirty Glory. He loves live music, decent coffee, Portsmouth FC and art galleries. He’s happiest climbing mountains, knocking down walls or whizzing around the local country lanes in his 1964 Morris Minor convertible.
Senior Pastor / Elder
Sammy became a Christian just up the road from Guildford at the age of seventeen. Working together in team ministry since they were first married more than 20 years ago, Sammy & Pete have planted two churches. With a background in business, Sammy is a proud mum to two teenage boys, and can often be found reading highbrow books in quiet corners of local coffee shops. Less impressively, she admits to having watched the Bridget Jones movie more than thirty times, and to having once been lead singer in a pub covers band.
Guildford Pastor / Elder
Bill is married to Nici and they have three sons. Before joining Emmaus Rd he worked as a curate under Bishop Sandy Millar and was involved in planting a church in inner city London. This was followed by five years serving on the leadership team at HTB where he founded the Furnace, a community of intercessors committed to fulfilling the vision of non stop prayer in HTB’s 24-7 Prayer room, which he oversaw for two and a half years. He is passionate about people encountering the presence of God. And Fulham FC! Bill loves good stories.
Woking Pastor
Josh is married to Em, and together they lead Emmaus Rd Woking. They two sons called Jackson and Jonas. Josh was the Associate Minister at an Anglican Church just outside Southampton for nearly three years before relocating to Woking. He has degree from Oxford (Brookes) and has completed one year at Bethel School of Ministry, he has also completed studying for a Diploma in Kingdom Theology at Westminster Theological Collage. Josh is passionate about seeing people walking in freedom and living life to the full.
Woking Pastor
Em is an amazing mum to Jackson (4) and leads Emmaus Rd Woking with her husband Josh. She is currently the Operations Manager for a charity in Southampton which works to support women in prostitution. Em is passionate about people, and seeing them step into their destinies.
Evening Service Pastor & Strategic Director
Adam has been part of Emmaus Rd for several years and joined the staff team in April ’18 as our Strategic Director and Evening Service Pastor which he leads with his wife Hannah. Adam also heads up operations for the global 24-7 Prayer movement. He is a graduate from Southampton University and trained at Bethel Church in Redding, California.
Evening Service Pastor
Hannah heads up the Vision Course for 24-7 Prayer. She is originally from Northern Ireland and has also lived in St Andrews, Scotland where she studied theology under NT Wright. She is a regular speaker and Bible teacher at Emmaus Rd. Hannah is married to Adam and together they lead the evening meeting at Emmaus.
Woking Associate Pastor
Matt is a keen runner, mountain biker and formula one fan, and is the Associate Pastor of Emmaus Rd Woking and also head up the under 18s team. Originally from Southampton, he studied youth & community work with applied theology before moving to Guildford to join the team in 2013. Matt is married to Paz who he met in Spain whilst at a 24-7 Prayer gathering. He is passionate about seeing people realise their potential, discover their gifts and get to know Jesus. And he makes the best cup of tea the UK has ever seen.

Student Pastor
Mike, is an ex-personal trainer and spent a large portion of his working life in restaurants. He has given His life to developing intimacy with Jesus, helping others to do the same and seeing His kingdom invade the earth. Having just finished his training at Bethel Supernatural School of Ministry, Mike has joined the team at Emmaus Road. He loves Jesus, people, specialty coffee, being around beautiful views, fitness and having a good laugh. His perfect day would consist of excellent food and coffee, a few close friends, laughter and really sunny weather.
Worship Pastor
Peter first arrived in Guildford from Northern Ireland in 2011 to study at the Academy of Contemporary Music. A world-class musician, he has toured and recorded with many great worship artists. It was whilst touring in Canada that he met Andrea, to whom he is now married, and they have two young children, Willow and Xander. Peter is passionate about helping people truly encounter God in worship. And board games.
Head of Social Transformation
Erik and his wife Rebecca moved to Woking as missionaries over 20 years ago. With a dedication to seeing God’s people demonstrate God’s love in tangible ways, they have kick-started lots of crazy ventures and projects. This includes founding The Lighthouse – a huge derelict building now turned into a vibrant hub that cultivates community transformation through various innovative projects. On days off, Erik can be found in the corner of a good coffee shop, exploring the Surrey Hills, or strumming his guitar – with great passion and little skill!
Head of Social Transformation
With a passion for transformation and justice, Rebecca has spent more than a decade working alongside individuals as a coach for personal transformation, and has over 25 years’ experience in missional transformation, including church planting, and pioneering Christ-centred social action. Rebecca is happiest when she is designing and creating beautiful and safe spaces where people can relax and flourish. She loves spending time with her 3 sons, and exploring new cities with her husband Erik.
Director of Spiritual Formation
Jill is married to Kirk and they have one daughter. Before coming to Emmaus, Jill was the Abbess of a 24-7 New Monastic Community in Canada for 17 Years. Jill is the Global Convenor of the Order of the Mustard Seed, a lay ecumenical religious order. She now leads the Seed Community, a 24-7 House of Prayer at Waverley Abbey. Jill is a trained spiritual director and a writer. Jill loves solitary walks in nature, and is passionate about helping others be awake and responsive to the presence and the activity of God in their lives.
Events & Communications Manager
Originally from Vienna, Sabine studied Hospitality Business Management at Uni, and recently gained a Masters in Charity Management at St Mary’s University in Twickenham. Sabine loves to plan and organise, and has a passion for writing, travelling and loves seeing others flourish in all God has for them. In her free time you can normally find Sabine walking her pups Lola & Winston or enjoying a G&T with friends.
Communities Pastor
Jazz has a background in mental health nursing and previously worked in a psychosis service in Westminster. She studied post graduate theology at King’s College London and is currently training to be a counsellor and psychotherapist. She is married to Michael, and together they are on the evening service leadership team. With a big pastoral heart, Jazz works alongside Bill to co-ordinate our pastoral care and collectives. Jazz loves a good coffee, a good joke and a good book, regardless of what it’s about!
Prayer Coordinator
Natalie is a Tottenham lady with a big loving heart. After getting married August 2015, Natalie and her husband Robert moved to Guildford and started attending Emmaus Rd. She is a keen lifestyle blogger as well as being a lover of Gospel & Worship music, her favourite artist being William McDowell.
Kid's Pastor
Sam grew up in the North-East of Scotland before moving to Guildford for the 24-7 Prayer Vision Course in 2017. At the conclusion of the course Sam took on the role of Youth & Kid’s Intern and now works as our Kid’s Pastor. Sam is passionate about creating a safe place for kids to have fun and be themselves. He loves chocolate ice-cream, afternoon naps and a Sunday roast!
Kids Intern
Nattie grew up in a Christian family, and moved to Guildford 3 years ago to complete a degree at ACM in songwriting and creative artistry. She loves people, food and music. Nattie is excited to watch children encounter Jesus and grow in friendship and relationship with him, as well as each other, so they know his love and presence, alongside the love and presence of church family, through every phase of life.
Youth Intern
Hope moved to Guildford in 2018 to study at The Academy of Contemporary Music. She is a keen drummer who loves to make as much noise as possible. She has taken on the role of this years youth intern, where she can encourages the youth to make to also make as much noise as possible; for Jesus. Hope is passionate about seeing young people truly encounter God, and is eager to help young people live out their faith. She also loves a good prank so watch out!
Worship Leader
Richard is married to Calli and together they write, perform and record music together in a band called Cardboard Carousel. They also feel a call towards worship ministry which has lead Richard to join the Emmaus Team and attend the Worship Central Academy this year. He loves the outdoors and has a heart for people and their well being, although if he sees a dog, you’ll lose all his attention for at least 5 minutes.
Elder
Scot is married to Misty and, together with their two children, they spent five years living and working in Eastern Europe before returning to the UK in 2010. Scot helps to lead the human rights organisation Christian Solidarity Worldwide. A rather slow, but enthusiastic, long distance runner you can find Scot running the Surrey Hills in his spare time.
Elder
After five remarkable years travelling around Europe with her husband Scot and their two children, Misty returned to teaching. She now heads up Matrix, a local Christian charity providing a lifeline and life-changing opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged young people across Guildford.
Rachel Bower works in Marketing and Communications. She is married to Tim and they have two daughters. We love having her on the team because she has an amazing ‘can-do’ attitude, is good fun and was formerly a trustee of another church in London so she really knows what she’s doing! Bex Barker is a local school teacher and a mum to two boys. We love having her on the team because she ‘says it like it is’ and keeps us focussed on our mission to the marginalised and those who don’t yet know Jesus.
Scot Bower heads up CSW, an organisation advocating for people who are being persecuted for their faith around the world. He and his wife Misty have two teenage kids, and also serve as Elders. We love having Scot on the team because he is a brilliant strategic thinker, keeps the link with our Eldership Team strong and is usually up for a pint.
Christian Guy is the Chief Executive of Justice and Care, an NGO fighting human trafficking. He was previously a special adviser in 10 Downing Street and before that led the Centre for Social Justice. We love having him on the team because he’s razor sharp, and passionate about helping the poor.
Pete is the Team Leader of Emmaus Rd and the International Director of 24-7 Prayer. Married to Sammy with two grown-up sons, he is always bringing new vision to the team, and calling us back to prayer.
Katie Millar is a full-time mum, married to Sam with three kids and two dogs. Katie has a passion for people and especially those who are finding life difficult, filling her weeks with helping with toddler group, a mums prayer group and family outreach. We love having her on the team because she has an eye for detail, is good at asking awkward questions and is involved in everything!
Ian Nicholson is a Director of Woking Football Club, Chair of the Matrix Trust and European Director for 24-7 Prayer. Married to Jackie, with three grown-up kids, Ian became a Christian in the Sixth Form at the Royal Grammar School, and has lived in Guildford ever since.
Clive Mathew currently chairs Tearfund USA, the Relational Peacebuilding Initiatives (Geneva) and the Church of England Pensions Board. After a long international career with Shell he has helped many charities to grow and flourish. Married to Ann, they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Mark is a former partner of KPMG and Ernst & Young, and now enjoys a portfolio career, including acting as a Director of a social impact fund in West Africa and financing large scale renewables projects in the developing world. He is married to Charlotte with three teenage children,
Pete Keynes has worked in the City as a Compliance Officer for a number of years. Married to Caz with three grown up kids, he loves outdoor activities and in particular sailing. Pete lives in Woking and attends Emmaus Rd Woking.
