Raised Up in Order to Stand
The only time the disciples are ‘seated’ in Acts is before the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. After this they stand and raise others to stand around them.
In this Friday Night Theology evening, Lucy Peppiatt will look at the way in which Acts tells the story of a God who raises us up in order to stand: to stand in our new identity as sons and daughters of God, to stand up to preach the gospel, and to stand in the face of opposition.
