Jesus was incredibly busy, with a world changing mission. Yet He was interruptible. Taking time to pray for people’s needs there and then.
Matthew 18:19 – “if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”
Inspired by this verse, the Godalming Collective met weekly in my home. As needs arose, people were invited to sit on a dining room chair, so the group could gather around them and pray.
The ’Prayer Chair’ documented answered prayers that sound extraordinary; but felt normal. Illnesses healed. Sleep restored. Fears overcome. Depression lifted. Jobs found. In short, people met with Jesus. The Prayer Chair is just wood and cloth. And we’re no more special than any other Christian. By joining together to seek Jesus, He used ordinary people and an ordinary chair to build our ‘muscle memory’ of faith, and to do extraordinary things in our lives.
When you meet with fellow believers in small groups, be encouraged to remember Jesus’ promise. He is with you, and He will give you what we need.
Greater things are possible for us… let’s join together, in prayer, and make a start!
